Ahmedabad: The state government has appointed Wipro as ICT consultant at Dholera Special Investment Region.
Ajay Bhadoo, the managing director and CEO of Dholera SIR, said Wipro has been awarded contract for (Information and Communication Technology (ICT) consultancy work which includes state-of-the-art design work for City Integrated Operations Centre, E-Governance, City applications (including analytics), Data Centre, City-wide network and City dashboards.
Stating that Dholera SIR is a landmark project, Bhadoo said, "The latest development marks the start of building Dholera Smart City". Dholera City, a first of its kind, is expected to be functional by the year 2019 with several manufacturing units and an estimated population of around 1 lakh people.
ICT infrastructure will be a common thread to all spheres of life in Dholera. Wipro will design by emulating two world-class smart cities (Singapore and London) and enhance benchmarks for proposing best of technological baselines for ICT infrastructure design for Dholera, including introduction of best-practice global processes.
